5842 / 417A

Measurements were taken using 150V/30mA plate, 2K2 load or 20H/50mA choke. Output filter is 1uF/100K, input resistor is 47K

Very excellent results for low frequency response.

Even better specs for the high range, who'd have thunk it!

measu010.jpg (9380 bytes)measu011.jpg (10777 bytes)
Frequency range of 2Hz - 2Mhz and up (my sine generator won't go over 2MHz)... WOW!

5842_meas8.jpg (8809 bytes)
Maximum output equals 23Vrms (due to 2K2 load this setup has a low gain). Beyond this the grid goes into positive swing and starts to clip.

Fair results down to 40Hz, after that the choke starts to take effect. Still not "terrible" though".

The high region is very much affected by the capacities of the choke windings as seen in the rounding effect.

measu001.jpg (9850 bytes)measu002.jpg (10305 bytes)
Frequency range between 6.5Hz and 743kHz, not bad eh! A higher choke value should lower the bottom frequency.

5842_meas7.jpg (9800 bytes)
Maximum output equals 116Vrms (gain is very high in this setup).
